Short Bio & Activities

Francesca Righetti is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Information Engineering (DII) at the University of Pisa, Italy. 

She got her PhD in Information Engineering at the University of Pisa in May 2021, with Prof. Giuseppe Anastasi,  Dr. Carlo Vallati and Dr. Sajal K. Das as advisors.
In May 2017, she received the Computer Engineering Master’s Degree , from the University of Pisa.

Her main research areas are the Internet of Things (IoT) and its application in the industrial environment, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). As enabling technology for the IIoT, she performed the performance evaluation of the 6TiSCH Architecture.
She is also interested in the Cloud-to-Things Continuum (C2TC).

  • 2022, Co-scientific responsible for the “Sustainable Model And Renewable Thinking Energy Parking (SMARTEP)” research convention between the Engineering Department at the University of Palermo and the Information Engineering Department at the University of Pisa. 
  • 2021-2022, Responsible for the Task ‘Design, implementation and execution of the experiments’ in the EdgeFlooding project- Exploiting Edge Computing for Real-time Monitoring and Detection of Flash Floods. Funded by NGIatlantic under the Third Open Call.
